As the organizer room parent for Mrs. Hall's class, one of my jobs is to collect donations from parents for the Teacher Gift Fund. The suggested voluntary donation is $50 per student. My goal is to ask you for money only once this year for the Teacher Gift Fund.
I have developed a class budget for the Teacher Gift Fund based on school-wide guidelines to pay for all teacher gifts. We will give Mrs. Hall small gifts for her birthday and during Teacher Appreciation Week, and larger gifts for the winter holidays and at the end of the school year.
In addition to actual gifts (cash or gift cards), the Teacher Gift Fund will be used to buy greeting cards for all of the children to sign, as well as to cover sales taxes on these cards. A fund has also been established for all of the specials teachers who work with our children. Ten percent of all class Teacher Gift Fund donations will be allocated to holiday gifts for the specials teachers working with our children so that they are properly recognized during the winter holidays. Additionally, Amy, your social room parent, submitted a questionnaire to Mrs. Hall to determine her favorite restaurants, stores, etc., to use as a gift-card buying guide. She will be in charge of purchasing greeting cards and gift cards and planning class parties. She will update the class when a gift has been delivered and when parties are being planned.
Remember, participation in the Teacher Gift Fund is voluntary, and the $50 amount is just a school-wide suggestion. You may give more or less. And please note that all children will be included in the class gift regardless of parental participation in the Teacher Gift Fund.
If you would like to donate to the Teacher Gift Fund, please send a check payable to Maria Zufall in an envelope in your child’s folder marked “Please send home in Zoe Chan's folder.” Or, you can mail the check directly to me at 988 Highland View, Atlanta, GA 30306. I would like to receive all donations by Monday November 3rd. Once all donations are received, I will let you know how much we collected and share the class budget with you.
